How to Prevent Allergens and Safeguard Your Company

Originally aired: September 18th

Allergens are the top cause of food recalls and pose a deadly risk to consumers and product safety.

Companies that want to mitigate the risk of allergen-related incidents must take a proactive, preventative approach, not just wait to respond.

In this on-demand Rootwurks webinar, you can hear Betsy Craig, the CEO and Founder of MenuTrinfo and Co-Chair of the Food Allergen Committee for the Conference for Food Protection, highlight the depth of the food allergen risks posed to consumers and what companies can do to mitigate these risks and safeguard their brand, their products, and their customers.

About This Webinar

Food allergies cause tens of thousands of emergency room visits in the United States each year and are one of the top food safety risks to consumers. In 2023, nearly half of all food recalls were ordered because of an undisclosed allergen on the product label. This increase is mainly credited to the new labeling requirement for sesame on food packaged after January 1, 2023.

Regardless, it is clear that food allergens are at the very epicenter of the safety issues facing the food industry today. We hosted Betsy Craig, the CEO and Founder of MenuTrinfo and Co-Chair of the Food Allergen Committee for the Conference for Food Protection, for an in-depth discussion of the food allergen risks facing the industry and the best practices that can help companies prevent allergen-related safety incidents.
